Nuno Silvestre
Nuno Silvestre has been connected with the food industry since he was a teenager. His family owned a pastry factory for more than two decades and all the family members were great cooks, including his mother, grandmother and his brother, a retired pastry chef. Since the age of 15, his knowledge of cooking became a hobby.
After several years working on the financial Industry he has decided to embrace one of his passions - Food Service Industry!
After having lived in several Countries and thought about the prospect for an enthusiastic food business trend, he has decided to go to Brazil with a friend to analyze the local food market. In 2001, he moved there with the plan to develop a project that was revolutionary in terms of healthy food. Brazil is the largest consumer and exporter of beef in the world and a Country of Grilled Food Lovers.
He developed this project from 2001 until 2006 in Brazil. He has worked on it for more than four and half years and then, after some presentation shows focused on the concept that included some cooking demonstrations he put it on hold for several years due to some personal issues.
Besides the food project, during the years that he lived in Brazil, he did consulting work for a pastry factory and also owned and managed (manager and Chef) a Portuguese restaurant in S. Paulo.
During all these years he kept developing his culinary skills cooking for benefit events, small businesses that he owned with some friends and also did some specific short courses.
After several years in United States, besides working with some environmental projects, he kept constantly aware of what was happening in the food service market. According to his knowledge, and understanding the growing concern about healthy food in US, he decided to “wake-up” his project and try to adapt it.
The Healthy Grill project was developed according to his futuristic vision, experience and knowledge. He felt that it was a great business opportunity to fill the existent gap in the food service market – Healthy Grilled Food - Grilled Food Free Of Carcinogens.
Unfortunately, due to some political events he has decided to once again put it on hold until arriving back to Europe when some friends start to promote the project awake.
